Other Culture Study #6

My struggle to recreate famous architecture.

Number Four Rug Design

Binary Video 3-2-1

Binary solves the need for thousands of volts to be sent through a computer.
Voltage cannot represent digits one through nine because the adder may misread what the number is.
Binary makes sure that our computers get the number correct, but they are longer and harder to send.
I don’t understand his fascination with the number two.
I don’t understand what caused the fuzziness he was talking about.

I want to know if things like the adder can be improved so that faster systems than binary could be used.

Eliza

I did not find Eliza to be humanlike and her responses never made actual sense. Her responses were poorly made and she would sometimes take exactly what you said and just merge that into her sentence. If she wasn't so dismissive and had a wider variety of responses to direct questions she would seem a lot more human. I expect that computers with emotional words will not make me think of it differently. Even if Eliza responded with phrases that how she feels about what I said, I would not think that she is human. Computers could perhaps work like Google and directly answer questions based off keywords however there is a long way to go before we give computers a mind of their own.

Google

As Google grew more popular the creators put sponsored links in the search bar so that they could make some money through advertising. This quickly started making lot's of money for them and eventually they needed coders and techs. Now, Google needs to keep expanding into new fields with their new found growth. This is difficult because a company that gets too big will be impossible to manage. Another problem they face is the sheer amount of competition searching for a weakness in Google in order to claim a slice of the search engine profit. In order to counter this Google scouts colleges to find young workers who will keep Google ahead of the curve. Google works by sending GoogleBots to every website. These bots find every URL and place it in an index based on keywords. When people want to search Google opens the index with those keywords and finds the appropriate sites.
